Schurter has expanded its FMAB NEO single-phase filter family with new variants for protection class II and high-performance applications. Stated benefits include cost- effective, compact designs and high performance in a -40 to 100°C temperature range.
Equipped with an enclosed steel housing, the new protection class II filter series does not require a protective conductor connection thanks to its reinforced insulation and has excellent symmetrical attenuation. That makes this version ideal for use in power tools and medical applications. The M5 version for a rated current range of 1 to 20A with plug-in connections is a special variant available for this purpose.
High-performance versions also have a closed steel housing and high symmetrical attenuation and, thanks to new core materials, very high asymmetrical damping in a compact design. These features suit use in demanding applications such as laboratory and medical equipment.
Application examples include medical devices following IEC/UL 60601-1 (1 MOOP, 1 MOPP), (protection class II: 2 MOOP, 2 MOPP) and audio/video, information and communication applications with IEC/UL 62368-1.
