Rutronik is expanding its range of rectifiers with four new series—VS-1EAH02xM3 (1A), VS-2EAH02xM3 (2A), VS3EAH02xM3 (3A) and VS-5EAH02xM3 (5A)—of ultra-fast 200V FRED-Pt from Vishay. Boasting improved thermal characteristics and increased performance, their low-profile housings provide a space- saving solution. Uses include commercial, industrial and automotive applications. Each are available as Vishay Automotive Grade, AEC-Q101 qualified versions.
The surface mount devices come in the industry’s first Power DFN3820A low-profile packages measuring just 3.8 by 2.0mm with a typical height of 0.88mm. They are also said to offer excellent thermal performance due to optimised copper mass design and die placement technology, enabling operation at higher currents. Wettable flanks allow automatic optical inspection without x-ray.
The rectifiers offer equivalent or higher rated currents than larger components in conventional SMB and SMC housings and therefore score points with a more than doubled current carrying capacity with a profile height reduced by 12 per cent.
