Optimum price-performance ratio

Kemet’s R41P Y2/X1 film capacitor is 40 per cent smaller than the R41T, aligning with applications where space requirements and costs are prioritized. This capacitor series suits use in filters for suppressing electromagnetic interference in line-to-ground and across-the-line applications that require safety classification Y2/X1. These include applications where capacitor failure could lead to the risk of electric shock, such as automotive, communications and renewable energy.

Y2/X1 film capacitors in the R41P series comprise a metallized polypropylene film encapsulated in self-extinguishing resin. As a result, the housing fulfils the requirements of flammability class UL 94 V-0.

Operating temperature range is -40 to 125°C. Cumulative operating time at 125°C can be up to 500h, with a capacitance drift of less than 10 per cent. At an operating temperature of 85°C, the capacitors deliver up to 100,000 hours. For optimum functionality, the manufacturer recommends a nominal voltage of 300VAC (50/60Hz) and a DC voltage of 1,200VDC.
